My senior thesis project entailed designing The Apex Trekking Axe, a type of mountaineering equipment. It was intended to serve both as a skiing/trekking pole and a self arresting axe. Two other products are currently on the market that attempt to fill this void, but with abundant shortfalls.

This project revealed to me my love of design. I learned that I had the clearest vision of the final product, so I took the lead in designing the details of this mechanism in its entirety.

We produced a minimum viable product to great acclaim on exposition day and received an A in the class.
